It's IBL Day
Listening to: Beautiful Soul - JMac
Salam all.
Today I had a very exciting day. Not knowing what the activities are lined for us, I wasn't even prepared for the worst. I just assumed we were going for a simple campcraft SW course - tying up knots and ropes. The stuffs I did every year for NPCC back in Sec days.
The course took place @ ITE COllege Central Yishun. I could have simply went on my own from Woodlands, but NO! The school rented a 44 seater bus. No choice, have to be in school by 0800hrs. Of coz me and gangs didn't reach on time. Ajay's children are not punctual people...as always...
The first clue to the activities stored for us was....... THE BACK GATE WAS LOCKED. yes...we had to climb the gates... knowing that we are late, we can't afford to go all the way to front gate. Mind you, Most of us are wearing jeans. So that explains the "pressure" of climbing.
We boarded the bus like superstar.Cheerings on the gangs who were already in the bus. Got to know that we weren't the only class going. @ least 3 classes were in the bus. Only 12 people from my class. Pathetic eh? But it was great~!
Reached the school slightly after 0900 hrs. The moment we alight from the bus, we saw FLYING FOX~!!! the trapeiz and the ladder. Military school or what?~!!
Proceeded to the canteen where Mr Tahir told us to change in shorts. SHORTS??? Yes I know it's difficult to climb does things in pants, but I am more comfortable in it. Thank Q.
The briefing begins... Mr Tahir was our instructor. As expected, we did basic knots. A good brush up for me. Thumb knot, Figure of eights, Reef knot and Guy Line. We were thought to use the safety equipments. After tt....
We proceeded to the field of "gymnasium" lol~! I still don't know what that field is known as.
My class was assigned to do the ladder first. They took turns for the gear. Ayu went up 1st. She did it as though she was cat-walking up there. Next was Yuz. after that I saw how unstable that thing is. Hasz lost balanced. So i changed my mind on getting on that one.My class was the most "kechorable" bunch. Sab and Daus made a scene up there. haha. Sab got fear struck once she reached up there and managed to get on 3 planks only. She was afraid to jump to land. guess what she did? She lie down and fall off soon after. HAHAHA. Daus was a comedy. He reached up there. Scared. every step he moved, he will shout like a girl. He's the most cutest and really tickled our funny bones... ALL of us on the field laughed. Eh, at least he completed the ladder. From left to right~! Bravo daus~!
Saw people doing the trapeiz. U balanced urself on a pole, and then try to jump and get hold of the trapeizium? hmm... none of my classmates dared to try that.
The ladder was done and over with. We were eager to do the flying fox. SEEMS EASY. Well, it is easier than the rest tho. But alot more equipment. We were all set in gear. If you must know, my class from start was always posing for camera~ Doesnt matter whose camera. lol~
We were all set. Ready and fully equipped. I was 2nd last to climb up. I start off with my right foot, Selawat berkali-kali sambil naik. As i reached higher,I felt weak on my knees. Never dared to look down. I thought I've climbed high enough. i looked up, i still have few more grips to go. Finally after much bravery, I reached the top. Fir was ready to jump. Joyce my schoolmate cum instructor told me to hold on to the pole if i still felt weak. ok, looked down. Not so bad,eh?
Sempat pose for a pix. "Mr Tahir! Cikgu! Saya nampak toilet tu!" I shouted to Mr Tahir who said when up there we can see an open air toilet in the jungle beside the school building... It was actually a fish farm. lol~! Joyce was fixing my gear. Nervous still.
ok, I was set to go. But i wasn't ready. Joyce was very patient with me. Thank Q,girl. When i was just about ready, I moved foward and didn't take the jump. Duh~! how to? Was supposed to lift my leg, not move my body foward. As soon as I squatted and lift my leg,"BISMILLAHI TAWAKALTU A'LLAH" and I was FLYING~!!! Yeah!!! I DID IT~!!
it wasn't sooo bad after all. @ the end of the line, Mr Samri saved me.
Me: "Macam nak terkeluar perut saya, cikgu! Cramp!"
He: "Tak,perut awak still intact, done worry"
Me: "Alhamdullilah"
and I walked back to Mr Chan to take off my gear.
Damn, It was great. Can i go another time??? hahaha.
Ok, the course has entitled us free 4 weeks of SW attendance. In other words, I don't need to attend SW for a month next term. yipee~!
